# Rossino: a Pomodoro timer for Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch

A Pomodoro timer for people who live in the Apple ecosystem: work in focused sessions, rest in real breaks, and see the same timer on every device.

Rossino is built natively for the Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Your timers and session history stay on your devices, synced privately through your own iCloud — Rossino has no accounts, no ads, and no tracking.

**Available now on the App Store** for Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Rossino is free. Rossino Pro, an optional subscription that keeps the timer in sync across your devices, is $3.99 a month or $24.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial on the annual plan.

The name is Italian: *rossino*, an affectionate diminutive of *rosso* (red) — “little red one.” It’s the tomato: the *pomodoro* that gives the technique its name, and this app its color.

## What you get

- Classic Pomodoro flow — 25-minute focus sessions, short breaks, and a long break every fourth pomodoro. Every duration and the cycle length are configurable.
- A menu bar countdown on the Mac, widgets on every platform, watch complications, and an iPhone Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
- You choose at every session boundary: a chime and a choice card, never a silent auto-advance (auto-start remains an opt-in).
- Session statistics — pomodoros and focused minutes with a seven-day chart, identical on every device.
- Private device sync through your own iCloud. Start on the Mac, pause from your wrist, finish on the phone — every device shows the exact same second.
- Light and dark mode with a per-device System / Light / Dark override.

## On every screen

The same timer, the same second, everywhere you work.

## The rest of the app

The timer is one screen of four. Here are the other three.

### Statistics

(image: The Rossino statistics sheet on iPhone: tiles reading 6 today, 2 rests, 150m focused and a 7-day streak, above a seven-day bar chart of pomodoros)

Today, rests, focused minutes, streak — and the week

### The choice card

(image: A finished pomodoro on iPhone: a card reading Pomodoro complete, take a breather or go again, with Start Break, New Focus and Not now)

Every session ends with a choice, not an auto-advance

### Widgets

(image: An iPhone Home Screen with the Rossino widget: Focus, 14:32, a progress line, and 6 pomodoros and 2 rests today)

## Without opening anything

The Live Activity keeps the countdown on the Lock Screen and in StandBy — the timer follows you even when the phone is face-up across the room.

## How to use Rossino

The same illustrated guide ships inside the app — on the Mac it lives in the Help menu.

-

### Start a focus session

Press play (or the Space bar on the Mac) to start a pomodoro. The ring counts down your focus time — 25 minutes unless you change it — with pause and skip either side of play.

-

### Follow the cycle

Each focus session is followed by a short break, and every fourth one by a long break. The tomatoes under the ring are the cycle you’re in now: red for focus, green for a break, the larger indigo one for the long break. A tomato fills in when you finish that session and reads hollow when you skip it. When the long break ends, the row clears and a new cycle begins — and it never carries into a new day. The line beneath it is your running total for the day, across every cycle and every device.

-

### Choose what's next

When a session ends, Rossino chimes and shows a card: start the break, jump straight into a new focus, or dismiss it. The same choices appear as notification buttons. Prefer no interruptions? Turn on auto-start in Settings.

-

### Glance at the menu bar

On the Mac the countdown lives in the menu bar, always visible. Click it for start, pause, skip, and reset without opening the window.

-

### Make it yours

The gear on the Mac window's toolbar (or ⌘,) opens Settings: session lengths, how often the long break comes, auto-start behavior, launch at login, and appearance — follow the system, or force light or dark.

-

### Track your progress

Statistics show pomodoros and rests today, focused minutes, and your current streak, with a seven-day chart — the chart button on the toolbar, or ⌘1 on the Mac. Every device shows the same shared history.

-

### Everywhere you are

Sign into the same iCloud account and your timer and history stay in sync on Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch — privately, through your own iCloud. Add widgets and complications for an at-a-glance countdown.

## Accessibility

Rossino's App Store accessibility labels are published for every platform, each one backed by a device pass rather than a checkbox: VoiceOver, Larger Text, Dark Interface, Differentiate Without Color Alone, and Reduced Motion on iPhone and iPad; VoiceOver, Voice Control, Dark Interface, Differentiate Without Color Alone, and Reduced Motion on the Mac; VoiceOver and Larger Text on Apple Watch. Voice Control on iPhone is verified too. If something in the app does not work with the assistive technology you use, tell us through [support](https://gsysd.com/software/rossino/support) — that is a bug.

## Support and privacy

Questions, bug reports, and feature requests: see [Rossino support](https://gsysd.com/software/rossino/support). Rossino stores your data on your device and in your private iCloud only — read the full [Rossino privacy policy](https://gsysd.com/software/rossino/privacy), which is short because there is nothing to disclose.
