Rossino privacy policy

Rossino collects no personal data. None. This page is short because that is the whole story.

Effective July 23, 2026. Published by General System Dynamics LLC (“GSD”, “we”), publisher of Rossino for macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS.

That is not a promise about intent — it is a property of how the app is built. Rossino contains no networking code other than Apple's CloudKit, and no code that reports anything to General System Dynamics LLC.

What Rossino stores, and where

Rossino stores exactly two things: your timer state (the current phase, your configured durations and preferences, and — while a session is running — the time it ends) and your session history (a log of completed sessions, kept for up to 366 days). Both live on your device.

If you are signed in to iCloud, those two items also sync between your own devices using Apple's CloudKit private database. That is your personal iCloud storage, governed by Apple's privacy policy. General System Dynamics LLC has no access to it — we cannot read it, cannot query it, and receive no copy of it. If you sign out of iCloud, Rossino continues to work entirely on your device.

Rossino also stores a few local preferences (such as your Light/Dark appearance choice) in your device's standard preference storage. These never leave the device except as part of a device backup you configure yourself.

What Rossino does not do

No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no password.
No analytics or telemetry. We do not measure usage, sessions, crashes, feature adoption, or anything else.
No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
No tracking, as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency. Rossino links no data to third parties and shows no tracking prompt.
No third-party SDKs. Rossino has no external code dependencies of any kind — only Apple's own frameworks.
No selling or sharing of personal information, because we hold none.

This matches Rossino's App Store privacy disclosures, where every category is declared Data Not Collected, and the privacy manifest bundled with the app, which declares no collected data types and no tracking.

Notifications

Rossino schedules local notifications on your device to tell you when a session ends. They are generated by the app, on your device. No push service delivers content from us, and no notification data reaches General System Dynamics LLC.

Apple's role

Rossino is distributed through the App Store and can sync through iCloud. Apple may collect information in connection with those services — a purchase or download record, or the operation of iCloud — under Apple's privacy policy, independently of us. Where Apple provides us with App Store reporting, it is aggregated statistics such as download and sales totals that do not identify you.

Your data, your control

Because everything stays on your device or in your own iCloud account, you control all of it. Delete the app to remove its on-device data; remove the iCloud copy in Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage. There is nothing to request from us and nothing for us to delete, because we hold no personal information about you. If you would like that confirmed in writing, ask us through the contact form and we will confirm it.

Children

Rossino is a timer. It collects nothing from anyone, including children under 13, and contains no ads, no messaging, and no links to user-generated content.

Do Not Track

Rossino does not track users across third-party websites or services, so there is no behaviour to change in response to a “Do Not Track” signal. This statement is provided under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version is posted here with a new effective date. Because the app collects nothing, any change would mean a change in the app itself — and a change that introduced any collection would be disclosed here, and in the App Store privacy labels, before it shipped.
