Rossino

A Pomodoro timer for people who live in the Apple ecosystem: work in focused sessions, rest in real breaks, and see the same timer on every device.

Rossino is built natively for the Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Your timers and session history stay on your devices, synced privately through your own iCloud — Rossino has no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. Coming to the App Store.

The name is Italian: rossino, an affectionate diminutive of rosso (red) — “little red one.” It’s the tomato: the pomodoro that gives the technique its name, and this app its color.

What you get

• Classic Pomodoro flow — 25-minute focus sessions, short breaks, and a long break every fourth pomodoro. Every duration and the cycle length are configurable.

The Live Activity keeps the countdown on the Lock Screen and in StandBy — the timer follows you even when the phone is face-up across the room.

How to use Rossino

The same illustrated guide ships inside the app — on the Mac it lives in the Help menu.

• Start a focus session

  Press play (or the Space bar on the Mac) to start a pomodoro. The ring counts down your focus time — 25 minutes unless you change it — with pause and skip either side of play.

• Follow the cycle

  Each focus session is followed by a short break, and every fourth one by a long break. Dots under the ring fill as you complete pomodoros — red is focus, green a short break, indigo the long one.

• Choose what's next

  When a session ends, Rossino chimes and shows a card: start the break, jump straight into a new focus, or dismiss it. The same choices appear as notification buttons. Prefer no interruptions? Turn on auto-start in Settings.

• Glance at the menu bar

  On the Mac the countdown lives in the menu bar, always visible. Click it for start, pause, skip, and reset without opening the window.

• Make it yours

  The gear on the Mac window's toolbar (or ⌘,) opens Settings: session lengths, how often the long break comes, auto-start behavior, launch at login, and appearance — follow the system, or force light or dark.

• Track your progress

  Statistics show pomodoros and focus time today, this week, and all time, with a seven-day chart — the chart button on the toolbar, or ⌘1 on the Mac. Every device shows the same shared history.

• Everywhere you are

  Sign into the same iCloud account and your timer and history stay in sync on Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch — privately, through your own iCloud. Add widgets and complications for an at-a-glance countdown.
